The first wine in the Viticola Mentriana line-up comes from Curro Bareño's family vineyard in the town of Mentrida itself. It's a bit further down on the flatter lands south of the Gredos Mountains. The vineyard still sits at 600m absl and the vines are at least 40 years old. El Mentridano is also made using a liberal amount of whole bunch, but only with shorter maceration. In doing so, it still gets those herbal undertones but with softer red fruit notes - Importer Notes
