This is a single-site, single-variety Shiraz sourced from a unique block in the Dash Farms vineyard on the southern ridge of Leanganook. In Pat's words, this is “a fabulous block of grapes” that he earmarked long ago for a delicate wine. The block sits on granite at a lofty 460 metres. The fruit was harvested on 24th March and gently whole bunch-pressed to old puncheons. The wine was transferred to stainless steel for malolactic conversion and allowed to settle before racking and a classic tirage bottling in early June 2023. Pat sums it up best: “We have a gorgeous balance of bright fruits with persistent acidity, and a frame that allows the granite minerality to shine.” Wowsers!
