Fio means thread in Portuguese, a reference to the relationship between the Kettern Family with a lengthy history int he Mosel, and famed Douro winemaker Dirk Niepoort.Niepoort, well known for his collaborations all over Europe was encouraged to work with the Ketterns given their ultra-traditional winegrowing methods and commitment to organic viticulture.

Fermentation occurs in mixed stainless and Foudre, where only a small amount of sulphur is added at bottling. Tropical fruits, citrus and that classic Mosel stoniness supported by a burst of acidity.
