The grandson of legend Paul Pernot (one of the leaders of world-famous Puligny-Montrachet), Philippe Pernot set out on his own in 2009, having inherited a few old-vine parcels from his marriage. He’s farming sustainably, employing a brilliant barrel-then-steel aging regimen, and crafting small quantities that already have quickly earned him reverence among colleagues and critics.
